Common Questions
The leak shows up in one place — isn’t that where the roof is leaking?
Usually not. Water travels. A ceiling stain directly below the kitchen often turns out to be a parapet flashing on the opposite side of the house, with the water running along a beam or pipe before it drops. That’s why proper diagnosis matters — fixing the wrong thing leaves the leak unsolved.
Do I need a full re-waterproofing, or just a repair?
Depends entirely on the diagnosis. Sometimes the fix is a single flashing re-seal (a few hours of work). Sometimes the existing membrane is genuinely at end-of-life and needs full replacement. We’ll tell you honestly — and we’ll quote the repair option first if it’s viable.
How fast can you come out for an active leak?
Phone is the fastest route during office hours. For active leaks in wet weather we prioritise call-outs and usually get someone out same-day or next-day in the George and Garden Route area.
Do you do insurance claim leak repairs?
Yes. We provide written condition reports, photo documentation and formal repair scopes suitable for insurance claims, and work with assessors directly when needed.
Is the leak repair guaranteed?
Yes — written workmanship guarantee on the repair. The length depends on the system and the type of repair, and it’s stated on the quote before you sign.
The method is chosen from the pipe and the substrate. Acoustic correlation and ground microphones locate pressurised leaks under slabs, paving and driveways; tracer gas takes over where plastic pipe transmits too little sound; thermal imaging maps hot-water lines and damp spread behind finishes; and an isolated pressure test on each circuit narrows it to one line before anything is opened. Where the leak turns out to be in the roof or the waterproofing rather than the plumbing, we move to a flood test and a moisture survey instead — different problem, different equipment.
